#cltArts March Meetup: The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

The #cltArts monthly meetup team is back for March with a visit to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24. Opened in 2010, the Bechtler represents a collection of over 1,500 pieces of mid-century modern art, with a focus on European, School of Paris-style works. The Bechtler’s collection, amassed privately over 70 years, was donated to the city of Charlotte by the Bechtler family, with the hopes of sharing their unique treasures with the community. Six years into the museum’s existence, only roughly 25% of the collection has been shown for public view.

Want to follow along on the tour and see the Firebird, “The Art of the Print” and “The House That Modernism Built”? Simply follow the hashtag #cltArts on your social media channel of choice. Participating organizations and their platforms include:

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – Social Media Managers, marketing and other communications professionals from major Charlotte cultural centers will join forces to highlight one featured institution each month via a dynamic, multi-platform social media campaign.
